BRP the company behind the Can Am Spyder have just commenced design and development of a petrol/electric hybrid Spyder. Now although it's only in the intitial stages, plans are to use a 600cc petrol engine and a 20kw electric engine that is powered by a Lithium battery. It’s expected that the hybrid Spyder will be able to travel around 32km under battery power. Now of course this still may be a couple of years away from completion, but nonetheless, it's still great to see some companies showing initiative. Keep an eye out in LTR for any updates!
